Philip and Andi’s Wedding – The Details

2013-05-27 07.13.18We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the wedding, and we LOVE that so many people love us.  While we can’t invite all the people we’d like to have, we do want you all to know that we are so grateful for your support of our marriage and our life here on the farm.

The Wedding Day

September 28th, 2013 – God’s Whisper – 3pm with a reception to follow

Philip is making our guest book, and we have a great set of table games – all hand-created for everyone who comes, young and old alike.

Our attendants will be Galen Floyd, Philip’s dad, as the best man, and Heather Heisig and Shelva Leep as the matrons of honor.  Our favorite people beside us. . . . it’s enough to make a heart burst.

The beautiful and wise Shelva Leep will be performing our ceremony. We can’t say how special it is to have a talented friend share her perspective and insight with us on this day.

And the capable, strong, and gorgeous Heather Heisig will be our wedding coordinate.  (I have heard rumor of a tiara, so consider yourselves warned.)

Our music will be provided by the incomparable John Francis. It’s a true honor to have this talented singer-songwriter play for our special day, especially given our dream to have this place become a small concert venue for artists just like John.

Our flowers are coming from the local Blue Heron Farm and will be cut just for us in all the most beautiful fall colors.  Dahlias, gomphrena, lemon basil. . . gorgeous!!

Dad’s cooking a pig, and we’re serving our farm-grown potatoes with other delicious dishes.  We’ll also be roasting Bremo-grown sweet corn.  Also, the God’s Whisper salsa is all set to go and is sharing the freezer with the billion GW green beans for everyone.  All the beer and wine will come from local breweries and wineries.  Plus, we are going to have an ICE CREAM CAKE from Kirt’s Homemade Ice CreamOur goal is to get all the food and drink for the wedding from within 50 miles.

Plus, we have bocce planned, and a bag-mitten set (as P grew up calling it) will be available.  And who knows? Maybe some bubbles and hula hoops will appear, too. The trails on the farm will be open and ready for a good ramble.  And I’m whipping up a great scavenger hunt to keep everyone busy.

We will end the night with the signature God’s Whisper Bonfire and s’mores.  (Good thing I only plan to wear this dress once.)

The Honeymoon

We are going to Bar Harbor, Maine.  We’ll be staying at a bed and breakfast that overlooks the ocean and is connected to a nature preserve. We hope to do some fishing and whale watching . . . and maybe we’ll even get in a kayak.

We’ll be away for a week of quiet time together in nature.

The Future

P will be joining me here at the farm, and we will grow this dream together.  There is no one else in the world that I would rather do this dream with.  I’m honored to be loved by him.

Share Your Photos

We’d love to have you share a photo of you and your loved ones with us.  Since we can’t have you all here with us, it would be wonderful to see your smiling faces on our special day. Philip is going to make a special photo album and wood burn the cover; we’d love to have your image – silly or serious – with a message for us on a small sign if you wish.  Please, get creative and take a pic.  Then, share it to our WedPics page.

Feel free to browse the rest of our Wedpics, too.  We’ll post images of this whole journey as we are able.

Registries

We have registered with a few places, including HoneyFund, where people can make donations to help fund our honeymoon.  Every gift means we have more money to put toward building a barn, getting goats, and constructing our timberframe lodge.

We also have a registry at Etsy.  We really love to support artisans, and these pieces will add uniqueness to our beautiful farm.

Finally, we have a more traditional registry at Target. We don’t need a lot of things for the farm, but there are a few items that will help us both “green” the farm and save us money that we can, again, pour back into the farm.

Thank you all for all the ways you love us.  And get ready to see more of P, AKA Philip, here about these parts.

  2. Andi, I’m so happy for you. You can count on some HoneyFund from me, since you’re clearly marrying an adorable, loving man who shares your green vision. Love you and can’t wait to see you again, stroll the farm as the leaves turn and meet your groom! xo
